چکیده
Background and objective: Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRA) is a WHO-designated priority antibiotic-resistant pathogen. In this study, we performed Multi-Locus Sequence Typing (MLST) for the clinical environmental CRA isolates recovered from an investigation of hospital outbreak. Methods: was 58 patients multiple sites. Twenty-four 11 were selected MLST. MALDI-TOF OXA-51 gene PCR used identification baumannii. MLST done by Sanger sequencing. Fisher’s exact test analysis categorical variables. Results: Extensive patient screening sampling identified laundry as likely source outbreak across wards. ST345 cooler machine identical to that different ST1145 three linen racks seven ST2207 found in another rack other Antimicrobial susceptibility patterns could not accurately differentiate between ST. Conclusion: result demonstrated link contamination environment polyclonal

Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii outbreak at university hospital
Nineteen clonally related imipenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii isolates were recovered from eight intensive care unit patients. All isolates harboured bla OXA-51-like β-lactamase genes and showed the absence of 22 kDa fraction in outer membrane porin profile analysis. It suggests a combination of two mechanisms as responsible for carbapenem-resistant phenotypes.

Results Between 23/1/2011 and 10/2/2011 five CRAB cases were detected in the IW. The following control measures were implemented: contact isolation and cohorting of cases, frequent disinfection of equipment and frequently touched surfaces, closure of the common bathroom and education of staff concerning contact and standard precautions. CRAB screening of all inpatients hospitalised on the ward ...
متن کاملAntibiotic Resistance Patterns and Molecular Typing of Acinetobacter Baumannii Strains Isolated from Burn Patients in Iran
Background and Aims: Acinetobacter baumannii (A. baumannii) is an important multidrug-resistant opportunistic pathogen frequently causing various nosocomial infections and is a serious threat to burn patients. These infections are usually caused by the outbreak strains. The aim of this study was to show antibiotic resistance pattern and molecular typing of A. baumannii genes isolates collected ...
متن کاملA single clone Acinetobacter baumannii outbreak in a state hospital in Turkey.
Acinetobacter baumannii is an important pathogen in hospitalized patients, particularly those in the intensive care unit (ICU). A total of 21 A. baumannii (6 from 5 patients and 15 from environmental samples) were isolated in the ICU and the isolation room of a state hospital in June 2011. The possible source of the outbreak was investigated. A. baumannii isolates were identified using conventi...
